The S2000 was launched in April of 1999 to celebrate Honda turning 50 years old.  The S2000 is a 2 door roadster that is classified as a sports car.  The S2000 gets its name from the 2 liters of displacement from the engine that mimic the 1960s Honda Roadster like the S500, S600, and S800.  There are two versions of the S2000 the AP1 and AP2.  The AP1 S2000s are the ones that were built from 1999-2004 and the AP2 are the ones that were built from 2004 onwards.  The AP2 features substantial changes to the drivetrain and suspension.  Honda has offically announced that the S2000 will cease production in June of 2009.
